F

I pray, my Lord, for Your grace, mercy, and forgiveness.

For, I have tried so hard to be good,
Only to have my life overrun with lawlessness.
I surrender to You my life,
Kneeling before You, God.
Give to You all I have -
I have nothing,
I am nothing,
I have nothing that is not Yours,
I am nothing without You.

I understand now commitment versus surrender,
The former emphasizes ourselves,
The latter emphasizes You.

I give up, Lord.
I am so tired
Of trying.
Of taking credit for the good,
Of feeling guilty for the bad.

If I have any will of my own, Lord,
I use it to choose You.
If I can do anything, Lord,
I use my last bit of strength to surrender to You.
I use my dying breath to accept You.
I take the last action that is my own,
Not even knowing if it is my own,
To accept You.
