Luxembourg City
Your first stop before joining the
group is picturesque Luexmbourg
City. Look down from the block (rock)
plateau into the two narrow gorges
which are at the meeting point of two
rivers. The city is dotted with a
number of bridges and viaducts.
See remains of previous inhabitants of the
city...Romans, Franks, Austrians(Hapsburgs),
Spanish, etc. The Spanish were pretty busy
building 37 turrets and 23 kilometers of
underground passways. An old fortress
surrounds the city. See the statue on the left.
