IF...

If love was spread
  by mosquito bites,
The world would be
  a happy place...

Every itch
  a sign of attraction
Every scratch
  a stroke of affection...

Wars would cease,
  There'd be worldwide peace -

If U.N. troops
  instead of rifles
Carried mosquitos
  in glass bottles...

Released in one gigantic swarm,
They'd cause all nations to disarm!

No matter if we're white or black
  (or any shade between them)
We'd take turns to scratch each other's backs
while applying globs of Calomine lotion...

A high pitched whine
  the background hum,
We'd march in line
to the beat of the drum -

Declaring our common destiny,
In itchy,
    scratchy,
    harmony...

           *         *         *

If only love was spread by mosquito bites...
...I'd get one to bite both you and me!
