Pics of Navajoland
These pics are mostly from the central Navajo area.
Agathla Peak Black Mesa
This is Agathla Peak, one of the sacred rock formations to the Navajo people. Elders say this is Shiprock Pinnacles little sister. This is Black Mesa, this is the area where Peabody Coalmine are digging coal. This is also the area where the two tribes (Navajo and Hopi) have been disputing over reservation boundaries.
Chilchinbeto community
Church Rock
This is the chapter of Chilchinbeto. This is home to the world's largest woven Navajo rug! As you can see in the distance, they used the rock formation as a welcoming sign.
This is Church Rock, located a few miles away from Kayenta. Agathla Peak is in the distance. As you can see the area appears to be from another planet!
