Let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them: let them also that love Thy Name be joyful in thee. For Thou, Lord wilt bless the righteous: with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.  Ps. 5:11 -  12

"For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless". (NIV) Psalm 84:11

Do you feel at times there are dark clouds around you?  Do you suffer with pain of body or distress of mind?  When you look up can you see the light of day?  If not, "Mr Gloom"  may just have sneaked into your heart's door.  If oppression comes your way, you can send it away {if} you "brighten the corner where you are".  Do not wait on others to help brighten up circumstances.  With God we can have a   bright, bright sun-shiny day. His Word tells us He is a sun and shield to us.

We all have pain or sorrow at times, but we can still have a blessed day with God's "Son shining" in our lives.  Just to know Him is a blessing we should count first on our list of all He has done for us.

God has given each Christian what is needed to see the light of day  in the midst of every circumstance.  "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel" (2 Cor. 4: 4).  We have been given light that we may clearly see the one who died for us and makes the way for us. We may not understand everything that happens but we can understand His words  of peace and life written to us.

Instead of asking God to remove the cloud of darkness, ask Him to make you a light to shine in the midst of the darkness.  He has placed his light within us that we may shine forth and God will be glorified.  Darkness has to flee when Satan sees a "bended knee".  Oppression and gloom are tools of the enemy against God's children.  Peace and joy are "lights" of the Lord to dispel the darkness with which the enemy tries to cloud minds.  Sing a song of praise unto the Lord and watch the light break through the clouds.  Call on his name and the "rays of hope" will shine through as early morning light.

Many dark clouds will be over our lives at different times in our Christian walk with the Lord.  We must recognize that some of these are only 'trials and tests' sent our way.  Behind every dark cloud is our Lord.  Sometimes clouds are permitted so that we will seek God's presence and discernment in prayer.   We are to pray according to the Father's will.  In order to do this, we must first discern what we can learn through the times that may seem like darkness. First we must remember, He is the light that shines in the darkest night. He wants us to lean upon Him and let His glory be made manifest to a lost and dying world.

We are to be as "bright lights in a dark world".  If we shine forth for his glory and honor, we can brighten the corner where we are.   If you cannot seem to see the "light of day", let Jesus shine arise and shine through you.  We have no light on our own as the light of the world must be found in Jesus.  Without Jesus, men walk in darkness.  With Jesus within, this world is a brighter place filled with peace, joy, and love.

 Be a reflection of "the Bright and Morning Star" and his light will drive the darkness away. Let His spirit arise today, go forth and brighten the corner where you are.

             Make today a bright, bright, sun shiny Day!

North, South, East or West, ..Only God's light can make all blessed!

              BRIGHTEN THE CORNER WHERE YOU ARE

          Do not wait until some deed of greatness you may do,
                     Do not wait to shed your light afar,
           To the many duties ever near you now be true,
                     Brighten the corner where you are.

                     Brighten the corner where you are!
                     Brighten the corner where you are!
           Someone far from harbor you may guide across the bar;
                     Brighten the corner where you are!

           Just above are clouded skies you may help to clear,
                  Let not narrow self your way debar;
           Though into one heart alone may fall your song of cheer,
               Brighten the corner where you are.

           Here for all your talent you may surely find a need,
                  Here reflect the bright and Morning Star;
        Even from your humble hand the Bread of Life may feed,
                  Brighten the corner where you are.
