                               "Seeking God First"

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33.

We have so many wonderful promises given to us in Scripture. To claim these promises of God, we must seek his kingdom and righteousness first. He promises us He will add unto us all the things we need and will bless us abundantly.

We must turn our eyes upon Jesus and look to his presence. As the chorus of the song relates, "the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace." When we look to Him, earthly things seem to be unimportant compared to his wonderful glory and majesty.

He is such an "Awesome God" and by faith we can touch Him today and each day of our lives. We do not have to physically see Him. The "eyes of our spirit" can know and behold Him through His Holy Word and in all creation. He will speak to us in many ways as He lives within our hearts. Listen for His still small voice speaking to you. Feel his presence all around you right now. He is no respecter of persons. Just begin to seek God first each new day.

We will find God when we seek Him with our whole heart. He desires our fellowship and praises. Seeking God is desiring Him with our innermost being and longing to be in his presence. He is always there waiting for us to call upon His holy name. He never fails us even though we have failed
Him many times. Our Lord reaches further down than we could ever reach up. He lifts us from the things that would bind us with his loving hands. He frees our soul from the grip of the enemy when we surrender to His will.

Our Lord loves to give us our daily blessings. The Children of Israel were given manna from heaven by the Lord and other necessary provisions. They had no need to worry over food or protection. His promises to them were dependant upon their obedience. "IF" was the word God used when he offered his blessings to them. This small word "if" had a lot of meaning then and still has for us today.

If they obeyed the commands given, then they would be blessed. It is the same for us today. We can rise above the world, live in obedience and faith and be blessed. Our new citizenship is in heaven and we can walk in the Spirit of the Lord by abiding in Him.

God also supplies our daily bread and our spiritual food. There are so many blessings and provisions we have available to us. Many live below their spiritual privileges in Christ. All we must do is seek God first and obey His blessed Word. His Word is his law and we are to "hide his word in our heart that we might not sin against Him".

We have a blessed assurance of divine provision "IF" we will only "seek Him first." Claim the land of promise given today and be blessed. The answer needed from above may be just as close as the mention of his holy name. Call upon Him and give Him the glory and honor due Him. He will uphold you and keep you "under his shadow" when you abide in the secret place of the Most High. Let His divine love sweep over your soul today. He will cleanse, renew, revive, and refill you. You will be given peace, joy and love from on high.

Remember...you are special! You are loved! You are God's valuable new creation made in His image and for His glory. You are His child and a part of the royal Family of God. You are a heir of God and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. Claim your inheritance, be blessed today and be a
blessing to others.
