Strengthened By His Might  - Walking In His Light

"Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;    Col. 1: 11.

It is such good news to know we do not have to rely upon our own strength.  Our strength is only according to his glorious power when we receive salvation.  He has promised to strengthen us and we can lean on Him.
We do not have to depend upon our works or deeds but by faith rely on His finished work at the cross of Calvary.

The Apostle Paul prayed that the Colossians would be filled with strength to keep on going no matter what happened to them. He prayed they would have the joy of the Lord as this is strength.  Not only did he want these to have joy, but also patience to be longsuffering.

It is said the false teachers in the Colossian Church believed spiritual perfection and maturity, was a secret and hidden plan which only a few privileged people could attain or find.   Paul only called it hidden because it was not made manifest in its fullness until Christ came and brought the glorious light of the gospel with truth.   His finished and perfect work was the only perfect sacrifice that could ever atone for the sins of man.  It has been given that all might receive the plan of God that Christ might live in the hearts and lives of all who will accept Him by faith.

We can give thanks to the Father who has made us fit to share all the wonderful blessings and the many things that belong to those who live in His Kingdom of Light. He has purchased our freedom with his blood and forgiven our sins.   We are truly 'strengthened by his might and walking in his light'.  This should make us joyful as we walk by faith each day. His truth keeps marching on!

Blessings in Christ,

"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord."         [Psalms 27: 14.]

In His Army

Strengthened by his power in this Army of our God,
We walk forward in victory as across this land we trod,
The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but are strong,
Defeating the powers of darkness and keeping us from wrong.

We are warriors dressed for battle as upon his name we call,
Knowing that our Captain will be there for all who fall,
He speaks peace and victory as the prize is just ahead,
The Lord says he will fight the battle as we are spirit led.

Wounded warriors run to the Father who picks them up and makes them new,
What He has done for others He says He will do for you.
Though sometimes one may feel weary in the warfare of the Lord,
We are one day nearer to the victory as He has already won the war.
