An Ever Present Help 

Do you have problems that seem impossible to solve at times and no help seems to be available?  Never fear, God is your 'Refuge and Strength'. Just knowing He is "ever present" should encourage and uplift us.  There is always a friend near who will be closer than a Brother.  He is always there and just as close as the mention of his holy name, "Jesus".  He is our anchor and our hope on which we can always depend.

God is described as a refuge which is a place of safety, hope and trust.  In Hebrew meaning it is 'a place one can flee for protection, to confide in, have hope or put trust in'.  This is a perfect description of our God.   He really is our 'refuge and our strength' at all times.  We can know we are safe, secure, and in his hands because of His promises to us. 

How do we get the strength spoken of in God's Word?  We are told 'the joy of the Lord is our strength' and know by abiding in Christ, we can experience this joy which is not as the world gives.  He will give us true happiness and security in Him which is our strength in this life.  There is nothing like the presence of the Lord and feeling his love within our hearts and lives.   Give thanks today because He is our 'Strong Tower, the Rock of our salvation, and a God that never fails'.   There are many 'gods' that people worship in this world but  only One true and living God on whom we can depend.  May we praise our 'Most High God' who reigns on high forever.  We can lean on Him today and always.
