WAITING UPON GOD

"Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily; be thou my strong rock, for an house of defense to save me.  For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. Psalms 31: 2-3

Have you ever waited on God to hear and answer the cries of your heart?  We have all gone through times of prayer and supplication when the answer was delayed.  We know He always hears the prayer of faith, but sometimes the answer does not come right away.  We have to keep asking, seeking, and knocking and it will be given unto us.

When God gives a vision or word of assurance, we know though it tarry;  it will surely come.  His word is faithful and as we patiently wait, he hears and is working in our behalf. His words must come to pass as He has spoken.

We are told and know "the Lord is not slow keeping his promise,  as some understand slowness."  "He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance".  His ways and times are not as our ways or times. "A day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day" in God's eyes.

Just when you think the answer will never come and it seems almost impossible to go on, the Lord shows up in the midst.  He has always been there and by faith we see and behold his work behind the scenes.  When God speaks, something always happens. His words are power and life.  When he speaks to a situation, it always has to change.  His power is above all the powers of this world.  One day every knee will recognize and bow to his supreme glory and authority. When the mountains seem to stand in your way, remember God knows and can lift you up above them into the shadow of his presence.

"Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof; and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." (Ecc. 7: 8)  "Wisdom is a defense and gives life to those that have it".  {Ecc. 7: 12} The wisdom of the world is foolishness, but God's wisdom is a defense to those who trust in Him.   His wisdom builds a hedge or fence of protection around his children to protect them from harm of the enemy.  Prayer is only the beginning and His answer can bring an end and new beginnings in  Christ.  The answer is in his timing and season and we can be assured it will be in the right season of our lives.

Trust in the Lord completely during the trials of this life and He will see you through.  What are our reactions to be in the midst of tribulations?  Romans 12:12 answers this question for us. "Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer."  This may sound hard to do but with Christ it is possible.  We can rejoice in hope as we see the answer by faith. If we continue instant in prayer, He will help us be patient
in any tribulation or circumstances of life.  We can commune with Christ in the midnight hour and he will speak to us.  David wrote: "Stand in awe, and sin not; commune with our own heart upon your bed and be still.  Selah"  Offer the sacrifices of righteousness and put your trust in the Lord. {Psalm 4: 4-5}

Waiting must be with willingness to do God's will in all things.  As he leads, we must follow his guidance.  He loves a willing heart and will give his godly wisdom when we seek Him.  We are "to instruct in meekness those who oppose themselves, and pray God brings repentance to hearts to the acknowledging of the truth". 2 Tim. 2-25. We are also to pray they will recover themselves out of the snare of the enemy who are taken captive by him at his will. 2 Tim. 2: 26.

Let our prayer today be as the Psalmist David's prayer. "Lead me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day." David must have surely had patience and willingness to wait upon the Lord.  Our Lord speaks to us today as in days of old.  "Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart; wait, I say,
on the Lord." Ps. 27: 14.

"And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ." 2 Thess. 3: 5

Remember, until the answer comes; we must keep praying and trusting in the wisdom and grace of the Lord.  Though the answer tarry, it shall surely come.

Wait on The Lord - Be of Good Courage.

"Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart; Waot, I say, on the LORD".  ( Psalm 27:14  NKJV )

Good Morning! Today is another opportunity to praise our Lord.  Are you waiting upon the Him for an answer or to work in your behalf?   Waiting on God seems to be one of the hardest things for his children to do.  Just as small children do not like to wait for the things they ask, sometimes God's children also want an answer to their prayers instantly.  God always knows what is best for us.  Waiting for an answer will sometimes make us stronger in faith as we see the hand of God move as He works
all things together for our good.

He tells us to "be of good encourage", or to be 'encouraged'.   In other words, take courage and think on the good side of every situation.  Believe for the best and be 'blessed in the test'.  The trials of our faith only perfect it and make us more Christlike as they work patience, faith, and hope in our lives.

Strength is promised if we only wait. Strength for our heart includes our whole being.  He will strengthen us just as promised {if} we endure and wait.  Some may ask what waiting on God means.  We are still going forth but yet not in our own power or might.  We are trusting and fully relying on God and what he is doing for us in all situations of our life.  He is teaching us, leading us, guiding us, defending us, and most of all loving us with a love that cannot fail.  Waiting on God actually becomes a privilege when we see and recognize that the Lord himself will fight our battles for us and is now working in our behalf.  He even dispatches the angels to do battle in the heavenlies for his children.  We really can learn to "stand still and see the salvation of the Lord."

If you are waiting, keep walking by faith and not by sight. It seems the darkest night is sometimes just before the dawn. The sun is coming up in the morning and everything is going to be all right.   'Wait on the Lord' because he is there.  His unseen hand can always be trusted.  His hand means 'power and strength' and cannot fail.  He reaches further down than we could ever reach up and holds us safe in his arms of grace and love.  Believing in the power of prayer is receiving in God's way and time.  Keep holding on to Jesus.  Remember, his delays are not his denials. The time of waiting will be worth it!

Blessings in Christ,

                                   Waiting

Waiting on God is something we all must do,
We present our petitions and then must pray through,
We ask Him by faith for the answer in prayer,
And trust Him to hear.....knowing He's always there.

And while we await.....his presence is so sweet,
Each day we can talk with him and sit at his feet,
His comfort and peace He places within,
He is our Lord and also our best friend.

Keep on holding on because this might be the day,
To hear Jesus say, "the answer is on the way",
Sent from heaven by unseen angels from above,
'To work all things for good'..... because of His love.
