Attending To Wisdom

My child, if you accept my words and treasure up my commandments within you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; if you indeed cry out for insight, and raise your voice for understanding; if you seek it like silver, and search for it as for hidden treasures -- then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.  For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk blamelessly, guarding the paths of justice and preserving the way of his faithful ones.
Proverbs 2:1-8 (NRSV)

There is an old hymn we used to sing called "Wonderful Words of Life". God's words really are "beautiful words......wonderful words".   When we study and meditate on God's Words, we hear from God as He speaks to us.   His Word gives us instructions to be successful in our life while on earth and leads us in right paths all the way home to Glory.  Where our treasure is, our heart will be also.  Do we treasure the word of the Lord?  "For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth." {Ps. 33: 4}.  "A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things; and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.".......Matt. 12: 35. If we have good treasure stored within our hearts we will speak good things and glorify our Father which is in heaven.

As we study the Bible and treasure up the commands of the Lord while attending to wisdom; our hearts will be turned to God.  We are to ask Him for revelation knowledge and understanding.  Just as people seek after silver and search for it as if for hidden treasure, so we should seek the wisdom of God.  His wisdom will preserve and keep us.  He will be as a shield to us as we walk before him in truth and guard righteousness.

There are many wonderful promises in God's Words which we can claim and receive by being obedient.  We must seek wisdom and knowledge of God and He will freely give us godly understanding.  May we desire with our whole heart the treasures of the Lord.  His treasures will be revealed to us if we will only seek Him.  He has promised to answer and be there if we seek and call unto Him with our whole heart.  He will show us great and mighty things which we know not. (Jer. 33: 3)

The conditions to receive these promises are (if) we will only hear, accept his words, and treasure his commands.
This is not asking much of his children and we should desire to be pleasing to Him.  May we see and seek all He has for us today in diligence and faith as he opens the 'eyes of our understanding'.

We can move as close as we want into his presence as we walk through this life.  Will we make a decision to draw nigh today unto Him?   With open arms He will welcome and receive us as he whispers sweet peace to our soul.
The choice is ours and the choices we make today determine the outcome of tomorrow's challenges in this life.  Preparation by meditation and communion with the Lord paves the pathway of our lives with
success and victory. Let God's "wonderful words of life" speak to your heart today.

"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power
may be of God, and not of us." (2 Cor. 4: 7.)

Word of God

The Word of God is a Word of life,
Sent from the Father up above,
Each promise written to us,
Is sealed with the Son's own blood.

In good times or in bad....
His Word will always stand,
Bringing new life and hope
As his blood washes away all sin,

Words of life and beauty,
Tell us of a love so true,
A love that makes a sinner a new creation,
Puts away old things, making all things new.

Follow on in God's Word.... it revives and refills,
There is no other word....... that can save and heal.
Sing them over and over'...his goodness to declare
Until the day of his appearing....His glory we will share.

                          God's Riches Of Wisdom

I
n the World you shall have tribulation.....
John 16:33.

"O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom
and knowledge of God.  How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out."
.Romans 11: 33

We all need wisdom and knowledge of the Lord to make right decisions and serve God as he desires.  Wisdom is also defined as 'prudence and understanding' from a Greek word meaning "the mind".  Another meaning of wisdom is "the ability to discern modes of action with a proper view to their results."  Believers are endowed with spiritual and also practical understanding if they only seek the mind of Christ in prayer.  He tells us he will not withhold wisdom from those who ask  Him in faith believing.  He is such a loving Saviour.

When we are guided only by our natural senses, we miss what God wants us to discern. We pray amiss if we are guided by what we see or hear and do not seek his higher wisdom from above.  Sometimes people will see much later the times their own discernment has mislead them.
Then they will understand what could have been accomplished if they had only sought God's wisdom instead of earthly wisdom or the reports of others.  This is why it is of utmost importance to seek the wisdom of God in everything we do or say to have proper discernment.  His wisdom will always give us a proper view as to the results He desires.

Walking by faith and not by sight will never fail us. God's wisdom is worth more than silver or gold as it helps us prepare for our heavenly home while living in
peace and joy on Earth.  God's ways are not our ways, and his judgments past finding out.  We will never understand all the  things of the Lord until we are glorified, but He will teach us through Holy Spirit how to walk in his ways of truth and discern the things that are of His Spirit.

We will always have tribulation while on this Earth, but can take comfort in Jesus as He has overcome the World. We are overcomers only through the 'Living Word', which is our testimony; and by his blood shed for us.
This "Word" of our testimony was the perfect sacrifice and spotless Lamb of God who makes us overcomers.
His Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path to lead us onward.  He has many riches and blessings along the way to freely share with all who seek Him.  May we ask the Lord for his wisdom daily with full assurance He will answer.  His help is always there for all who ask in "faith believing".

Wisdom of God is a 'tree of life' to them that lay hold; and happy is everyone who retaineth her. Prov. 3: 18

Fear of the Lord is Wisdom

"Since you died, as it were, with Christ and this has set you free from following the world's ideas of how to be saved....by doing good and obeying various rules.....why do you keep right on following them anyway, still bound by such rules. Col. 2: 20

When we are in Christ, we are a new creation.  Old things are passed away and everything becomes new.  We cannot please Christ by following rules and regulations as those under the law sought to please God and gain salvation.  We are only to fear God and keep his commandments.  Fear of man is a snare but "awe" of God is wisdom and will bring understanding.  We must have reverance for God which will give us Godly wisdom. Reverance will give us a desire to truly praise him by living a lifestyle of worship.

Paul was not telling us in this Scripture that regulations and rules are not good, but was saying the keeping of rules, laws or regulations does not earn us salvation.  No matter what we do to be righteous, it is only by "His finished"  work we are justified and made whole. Salvation only comes through the finished work of Christ.  The laws of Christ are to be obeyed and the greatest of these are the laws of love.  When we love God with all our heart and our neighbor as our self, the other laws which hinge on the greatest commandment are easy to obey.

Man made religions focus on man made rules and rituals which practice religion instead of a 'living relationship'. Right living is a result of our right relationship with Christ and only comes after we receive Him and have a
changed heart.  Keeping rules to gain salvation as some man-made religions focus is not our goal.  True Christianity will naturally give us a change of heart
when we take up our cross daily and follow the Lord.  We will then have a desire to keep God's rules and be in order where ever we may be placed in the Body of Christ.  Our salvation depends on the power of Christ's death and resurrection and what we do with it in our lives. It is not by might or power, but by His Spirit.

It is a work of the marvelous grace of God that we are now a spiritual being, created in the image and likeness of God. Our new life will give us a fear of the Lord to reverance him with "true worship" and shun the very appearance of evil.  True worship always has goals to bless God first and see others brought to altars of repentance, restoration, and reconciliation that God might be glorified.  We can be thankful as Christ's resurrection guarantees new life now and also eternal life with Him.  Rejoice in the Lord for the God of our salvation reigns in righteousness forever!  He will prove his power to the Nations and protect his people from the snare of the enemy. We have victory in Jesus and our names are written down in the Lamb's Book of Life.

Blessings in Christ,
