Pray Without Ceasing

"Always keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."  1 Thess. 5: 17-18. (Life Application)

Many people question how one can always "pray without ceasing" as the Bible tells us to do.  We certainly can't be on our knees all of the time praying, but we can keep an attitude of prayer at all times and have a thankful heart. No matter what may happen in life, we are still to give thanks because we have been rescued from sin and death and given eternal life in Christ.  This free gift of God should be remembered and thanks shown by us to the Lord.  The "knees of our heart" can bow in humility and gratitude as we thank him during the day for all the many blessings of life bestowed upon us.

Our attitude of gratitude is built upon the realization of our complete dependence on the Lord for all things.  As we realize his presence with us, we determine to obey Him.  With this attitude, we find it natural to pray all during the day.  These prayers do not replace a regular time with God spent in communion and prayer, but God looks at the heart and honors even our "breath prayers" when spoken to Him.  What a wonderful privilege to be able to take everything to the Lord in prayer and know He will hear and answer!   As an old gospel spiritual says, "God may not come when you want him, but He is always right on time.  He's an on-time God, yes he is!"
Now that is something we can all be thankful for!

Blessings in Christ,

Pray Without Ceasing

Call upon the Lord no matter where you may be,
He has rescued us from sin and set our spirits free.
Whisper a prayer in the morning or whisper a prayer at noon,
It will touch the heart of God and keep our hearts in tune.

Prayers and supplications sent on wings of faith ascend,
As we call on Jesus who is our dearest friend.
Fellowship of the spirit and communion with our Lord,
Help us through this life as we seek our eternal reward.

With Jesus in our heart we have all we ever need,
To accomplish all life's tasks and spiritually succeed.
Pray without ceasing and see dark clouds disappear,
The light of heaven will guide as God takes away all fears.

Pray without ceasing......He is always near.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

Sometimes the Lord calms the storm, sometimes He lets the storm rage and calms His child.

Friendship is one of the sweetest joys of life.  Many might have failed beneath the bitterness of their trial had they not found a friend.
