This is Momoe's most famous love tragedy. She casted a 18-yera-old senior high school student, Ooshima Sachiko. On day, Sachiko paid a visit to her daddy at his work place. Unfortunately, there was radiation leakage and as a result she had leukemia. Her once bright future was dashed. On the fateful day, she befriended a young medical undergraduate, Mitsuo. They fell in love only to realised later that they were siblings. At the end, Sachiko died in her boyfriend's arms.

NB: Momoe's schedule then was ultra tight. Hence whenever she had to go on variety shows, a substitute (shot of her back) or a lifesize photo of Momoe (shot of her face) would be employed so that the filming would not be delayed. All actors and actresses, except for Kaoru Yachigusa (cast as Momoe's mother, Toshie) had no complains. Kaoru-san withdrew from the team and the role was taken up by Misako Watanabe.
