Reading

  Reading

As a child it was my goal to read every book in the library.  I didn't realize that more books would keep appearing on the shelves. As an adult I struggle to find time to read for pleasure, but I read a little at breakfast each morning and try to read more books every time I go off track.  I also read several magazines every month. Here is a list of some books I have enjoyed lately. I hope you find an idea for something you would like to read.

A Prayer for Owen Meany  John Irving) - unusual, but one of my favorites (harsh language)
The Land Girls ( Angela Huth)
Fortune's Rocks ( Anita Shreve)
The Buccaneers ( Edith Wharton)- I love books set in England.
Plain Truth ( Jodi Picoult) - Her books always make me think about things.
Keeping Faith ( Picoult)
The Mitford Series ( Jan Karon)- really wonderful, gentle humor
Motion to Suppress (Perri O'Shaughnessy)- I like this whole series by the authors.
Bridget Jones's Diary ( Helen Fielding)- I laughed out loud on the airplane.
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason ( Helen Fielding- still laughing)
A Cold Sassy Tree (Olive Burns) - one of my all-time favorites
Confessions of a Shopaholic (Sophie Kinsella)  ( I can relate to this.)
Shopaholic Takes Manhattan ( Kinsella)
Ladies with Options ( Cynthia Hartwick) - a really fun book, be sure to read it
Holes ( Louis Sachar) - my son's Newbery award winning favorite
Peace Like a River ( Leif Enger)
