Slam Dunk is a story of high school students all aspiring to be basketball stars except for one who blundered into it with another motive. Yes, that's Hanamichi Sakuragi who holds the record of being dumped by girls for the 50th time. And the last girl he was with left him for a basketball player. With that thought still boiling in his mind came an untimely question, "Do You Like Basketball?" by a beautiful girl. Before flaring up, Sakuragi saw in front of him his next love, Haruko Takenori. To win her heart he joined the school's basketball team. Convinced he is a born genius in sports he tried his best. However, things are not working out as it seems when Kaede Rukawa, the star player emerges. He is the idol of many girls including the Haruko. The team captain (nicked gorilla) who is also Haruko's brother insisted Sakuragi on the basics before going into the real thing as Sakuragi knows nothing of basketball. As he improves his game, the return of few players like Mitsui and Miyagi, their team, Shohoku High is bent on the championship. Thus starts a wonderful experience of basketball stories involving them and few other rivals.

When Mitsui first showed up he had this long hair, which i find it pretty ;p he was a delinquent, liked to make trouble and disturb juniors. I was kinda surprised when i found out he was previously a basketball player! Then he cut his hair and tala! Kawaii ne!! haha! In the anime i watched, he had 3 hairstyle altogether, i definitely prefer the latest one! So cool and clean-cut! It was a knee injury that made him gave up hope previously as he was unable to take part in one tournament for Shohoku. He looked up to Ansi coach very much and it was this coach who rekindled his passion for basketball again. |

Ok I will try to find a clearer pic hehe! Altough Ryota is short for a basketball player, he is very swift. Was initially at loggerheads with Sakuragi, but when he found out that Sakuragi is in the same boat as him (Both often get dumped by girls), and in fact worse than him, they became good friends. He had this curly hair and wear earrings...erm... ;) He is crazy for "CaiZi" (i will find out her japanese name) who is the referee for the basketball team. You shd see his expression whenever he sees her, so comical! Just like Sakuragi whenever he sees Haruko. That's why they are good friends!! haha ;) |

This is one of my favourite character in Slam Dunk! His swift movement and professional skills in basketball is really unbelievably Good! I know he is only a cartoon character lahz but he is just so COOL! *drools* :�~~ He enjoys falling asleep especially during lessons.. and lotsa gals goes ga-ga over him! I enjoys the part where he argues with Sakuragi (His sworn enemy manz..dunno why they just detest each other)..haha..he likes to call Sakuragi "Bai Chi"! |

A real "Bai Chi" who thinks he is a genius in basketball..hee. Proved to have great potential in basketball but just too full of himself. A really hilarious character in Slam Dunk! This pic may defer from some of the pics u see..i guess there are many versions but this is the one shown on TV. |

The Team captain whom his well-known nick is "gorilla" without him knowing of cos. Can't stand Sakuragi but he sees the potential in him. His sister is Haruko whom Sakuragi and most guys are crazy over! You shd have seen the way Sakuragi reacts whenever she appears..haha damn funny! |

He wears specs and looks really gentlemanly (Janice, your type!!). Sakuragi likes to call him four-eyed frog (He's always giving ppl nicks).. he is quite good in basketball and the peacemaker of any fights. |

Another fantastic player whose skills equals that of Rukawa. He got really friendly looking eyes and looks kind of cute. *LOL* Just like those Mr Nice Guy kind of look..The funny thing is that he has weird habits like sucking lemons and putting his hands in his shorts like Sakuragi! One of my favourite characters in Slam Dunk too! |

The team captain of Ryonan, plays against gorilla's team. Do you realise something? The team captain has almost the same kind of look! haha..anyway maybe it was done purposefully to signify their identity as captain! |
There are of course more characters than i just listed...as they go on to play against other schools in order to get to the finals of IH. Basically i am catching every episode possible every saturday..yeah it's so lay cheh! But! I don't mind the wait! Hee..!
