The listing
of these sites is in no way an endorsement of these sellers. Here are some
ways (in my opinion - take that for what it's worth) that you can keep yourself
safe when buying:
* Always
be careful when buying used items from people you don't know!
* Consider paying extra for shipping insurance and delivery confirmation,
and send payments by certified mail.
* Always beware of people who won't give you a list of exactly what they have
to trade before you say what you want!
* Get references from auctions sites as well as written trade endorsements.
* Don't trade with someone who gives you only written sources from one email
server (like just AOL - especially!).
Believe
it or not, there are scammers out there - I just got contacted by a known
con-artist recently and wouldn't have known it had I not seen a profile on
this person at the My Little Pony Bad Traders List!
Here's
a great place where you can buy *copies* of My Little Pony 'n Friends, My
Little Pony Tales, and some of the made-for-TV movies. Patience, however,
is key with this gal - do NOT bug her about when your tape will be done. I've
not ordered from her, but I hear her turn-around is fair. You're not paying
for the episode, you only pay for the tape itself and shipping.
I
think this site is cute! Not only does Stardancer have a lot to trade, but
she also lists other traders' sites and rates them.
The
Ponyland Market is actually a set of message boards. There's a board for plain
ol' discussion, and then there are ones for listing your trades, your sales,
and your wants!
Everlovables'
website is an adventure in pony I.D.! No names, no pictures and very sketchy
descriptions - BUT there are a lot of ponies here for cheap!
It's
with some reservation that I list this site. Pony Express' prices are outrageous
(at times - $50 for a TAF baby isn't bad, but Concave Foot Cotton Candy for
$15???), but you get good descriptions and pictures as well. There are even
UK ponies.
My
Little Pony UK takes awhile to load, but the graphics are just beautiful!
There are a lot of ponies here for sale, US, UK, New ponies and lots of accessories
too!
Baby Licorice
seems to always have a lot of ponies to choose from - and she also has great
references from people I recognize. Lots of pictures and fairly frequent updates.
Alright,
alright - now will you STOP asking me to recommend a price guide site??? Those
of us who have *cough* been around the block a few times know that with the
advent of eBay, collectables are extremely
difficult to make a price guide for - the prices just change so drastically.
Anyway, The eBay Report is the only site I've seen with the right attitude
- they just track eBay prices month by month and archive them. There's more
to it than just that, so make sure you check out the eBay oddities in the
Editorials section.
Oooh...
as the holidays near, this site's a great one to have on the list! The My
Little Pony Gift Registry is a place where you can post your want-lists and
special dates for all of your pony friends to see.
