Kreutz Creek Valley Preservation Society

GROWING GREENER

On April 18, 2000 a grant was awarded to the Kreutz Creek Valley Preservation Society by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection via it's "Growing Greener" grant program. We are one of three recipients in York County, whoapplied and were granted the funds for environmental projects. The grant, authorized by the Environmental Stewardship and Watershed Protection Act will finance the project for stabilizing eroded banks of streams, removing invasive plants and educating landowners in restoring the watershed. Jineen Boyle, the PADEP Regional Watershed Coordinator for our area recently spoke to the society at our annual picnic, informing us about the program and project. This is another facet of preservation that KCVPS supports in the Kreutz Creek Valley.
