Here's the next One Piece movie which I recently got a copy of. It's a bigger adventure with much neater scenery and the villians are getting much more interesting too. This time the villians are based on playing cards. I call them the Royal Flush gang. It seems to take place after Zoro gets his new swords and before they meet Chopper. (Keep watching the credits to see him and a number of other characters that haven't entered the series yet.) The clockwork island has a really nice design to it and the artwork is familliar yet somehow more detailed and sooth than ever. But it also carries the tradition of having them meet a kid (repeated in movies 3 and 4) who ends up learning about his past. I wonder if the writers had kids in mind for the audience.
There's plenty of actaion as you would expect in One Piece. Some of my favorite Sanji moments are in this movie, so you'll definately want this one if you're a Sanji fan. You won't get to see him cook in this one but he does get to put lotion on Nami's back and brag about it later to the jealous badguy of the movie.
Note that if you're watching this it should be for the cool fight scenes and awsome visuals. The plot isn't especially deep and lacks the subtle cleverness of the original author, Eichiro Oda. Movie 6 has an interesting plot however. Professional movie critics wouldn't like this movie but maybe you will.

There's also an extra short called Dance Carnival which is lots of fun although they forgot to subtitle it. You even get to see the hypnotist from the black cat pirates dancing like Michael Jackson!
Straw hat pirates:

Monky D. Ruffy:
Captain, rubberman, future king of pirates. He's irresponsible, adventurous and gluttonous and he can stretch like rubber.
Nami:
Navigator, Sailor, Thief, Mapmaker. She's known to be tricky and well skilled at what she does.
Zoro:
Swordsman, Bounty hunter. He's skilled in the art of fighting with 3 swords.
Usopp:
Marksman, Cannoneer, artist, shipright. He's known as a liar and teller of tall tales but he's not as useless as people think. He has many talents but can often turn cowardly.
Sanji: Cook. In this series, chefs fight with thier feet only since they need their hands for cooking. Sanji is a great chef and an equally great kickmaster!
