Baby Sheila was born on June 12, 2005. He was definately a surprise, the only kitten born to his mommy Zoe. He was a real Mama's Boy and Scaredy Cat for the beginning part of his life. He was a gorgeous little guy who had fur that felt soft as silk, and these striking green eyes. With a little work, he became the sweetest kitty ever, often hogging all the attention. He never really "walked" he always pranced, almost trotted. He loved people and always wanted to be held and played with. In mid October Baby Sheila began to show signs of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). FIP is an ALWAYS fatal, extremely frustrating disease. We nursed Baby Sheila in hopes that he had been misdiagnosed, as this happens a lot, but to our heartbreak he had FIP. We made everyday count and loved this little baby whose life was about to be cut short. Baby Sheila was one of the inspirations for the "birth" of No Place Like Home. We want Baby Sheila's memory to live on forever and what better way to do that than helping our other little furkids in his name. Sadly on October 31, 2005, Baby Sheila passed away in his sleep with the people who loved him most. Although he only blessed our lived with his presence for a short time, he lived a life fufilled with love. He will always be on our minds and in our hearts!

No Place Like Home has started a fund to help raise money to pay vet bills as we believe that no animal should be slighted the proper care due to lack of funds. This fund is in loving memory of Baby Sheila. Even the smallest amount can really help make a difference. To make a donation to the Baby Sheila Fund, please click the button below. Thank you!
