Interview
This research assignment is designed for you to do many
things:

Write effective questions for an interview

Examine the key components of an interview
-
Discover and meet new individuals around you
-
Identify trends and events in Missouri history
What you have to do:

Choose an adult that you know who lives near you. If you have trouble
finding someone, contact Mr. Kinder and he will help find a person for
you.

Ask them if you can interview them for an assignment in you history class.

Write at least 20 questions that you will ask them. Be sure to determine
when they grew up, where they grew up, what changes they have observed
locally, etc...

Turn your 20 questions and the name of the person that you are going to
interview into the teacher for approval.

After approval, conduct your interview at a time that is convenient to
the person you are interviewing. Remember to be friendly and polite.
Be sure to take good notes while conducting the interview.

Type a 2-3 summary of your findings.

Send a thank you note to the person you interviewed.
Grading Criteria:
This assignment will be worth 25 points. Here is how the points will
be awarded.

5pts for the 20 questions that you write to interview the person with.
-
5 pts for the thank you note that you send to the person.
-
15pts for the summary of your findings. This should include: a title
page, an introduction with a brief background of the person you interviewed,
the body of the summary with an emphasis on the main points of your interview,
and a conclusion.
