Ward met up with Laguna and Kiros, with whom he fought in the Galbadia Army. He currently serves with his comrades as a presidential aide and shows them unwavering devotion. Ward lost the ability to speak years ago, but Kiros and Laguna are able to easily interpret his facial expressions.
