Eminem stars in this powerful, inspirational film about a young man who has nothing and wants to become a rap star. After choking at a battle, he sets about re-evaluating his life with the help of his loyal friend (Mekhi Phifer), who forces him to do what he thinks he cannot, and the girl that enters into his life (Brittany Murphy). Jimmy Smith, Jr. (Eminem) relizes that, when a chance is laid in front of you, you must seize it. This film also won a highly deserving Academy Award for Best Original Song, "Lose Yourself" (written by Marshall Mathers, III, Jeff Bass, and Luis Resto).

Rated R for strong language, sexuality, some violence, and drug use.
