CHILDREN OF THE CORN
1984 **1/2 93 mins.
A creepy idea from the mind of Stephen King is what saves this film from complete worthlessness. A couple winds up in an apparently deserted town, only to find that its inhabitants are children with some wacky religious ideas. The short story is much creepier, more suspenseful, and much better than this film, but the film is still a bit interesting. One cool point I noticed is that, on the dasboard of the couple's car, there is a copy of Stephen King's Night Shift, which is the collection of short stories "Children of the Corn" comes from.
Rated R for language, gore, and violence.
