The Godfather
Part III

1990 **** 170 mins.

All in all, this is a very entertaining and very well-done finale to The Godfather Trilogy. The reason, though, that it loses a star is that it stands out a bit too much from its predecessors. This just doesn't feel the same as the first two. Plus, Sofia Coppola is terrible as Michael's daughter, Mary. The ending of the film, though, is fantastic in every aspect. As a film unto itself, this is a masterpiece. As a part of the trilogy, it must be a step below the others.
Rated R for violence and language.
