THE LITTLE
MERMAID
1989 ***1/2 83 mins.
I'm not sure, exactly, what it is about this film that I don't like. I just know that I, personally, absolutely despise this film. However, it is a very well-made film, so I have to give it a good rating. I just, personally, don't like it. Like I said, though, I don't know why. The songs are great, the animation is great, the characters are charming, the story is creative. I just don't like it. A mermaid longs to be human, while her father won't let her.
Rated G.
