The Night Before Christmas Twas the night before Christmas when all through our house, Our little cat Skittles was chasing a mouse.

The children were dancing filled with such joy, At the thought that tomorrow would bring them a toy.

The kids set out cookies for fat old Saint Nick. But it wasn’t too long before the cat had a lick.

Off to their beds the kids went with a fight. They didn’t want to miss seeing Santa that night.

Something didn’t feel right so I asked everyone. While we laugh and have fun aren’t we missing someone?

They thought for a moment, then remembered His birth. They remembered that baby who came to this earth.

“It’s Jesus”, they shouted, “tomorrow’s His day. We can’t forget Jesus, it’s His special day“.

So we gathered together, a prayer we did say. We thanked Him for coming on that special day.

We promised our Jesus right there on that spot. That it’s His special day and He won't get forgot.

So we all jumped in bed and something felt right.

We remembered the reason for Christmas that night.

It’s not seeing Santa, although that is fun.

Not even the presents that were wrapped one by one.

Christmas is Jesus, and Christmas is here.

So we’ll celebrate Jesus in our home for years.
