A long time ago, two children were having fun in a beautiful large snow-covered garden.

"How about we make a man?"

Oh yes, good idea, why not make a little boy? " said the little sister.

They set to work. They first gathered a large pile of snow which, under their skillful hands, quickly took the form of a little boy. Suddenly, a whirlwind of snow and wind rose above the little snowman and the latter seemed to come alive. His face turned pink, he blinked and smiled.

Soon after, he started running with the two children. Throughout the afternoon, they had fun throwing snowballs at each other, sliding, chasing each other between trees, singing nursery rhymes. At the end of the afternoon, the mother called them to come and warm up and get ready for Christmas Eve. At the sight of the little boy dressed all in white, she thought, "It must be the neighbor's little boy." She took him under the arm and ushered him in.

"How cold you are, come closer to the fire!" The little boy did not dare to refuse. He had barely entered when already under the effect of the heat, he felt himself grow thin and smaller. He had no choice but to rush outside.

The children explained to their parents where this strange little boy came from. "It's very sad, the poor will be alone for the celebration of Christmas and there is nothing we can do about it," said the father.

While the whole family was busy preparing the table for New Years Eve, the little snowman could only contemplate the scene from one of the windows. Feeling sadness rising in him, he returned to one of the corners of the garden to cry. At the end of the meal and after the presentation of the gifts, the brother and the sister went up to their room and before going to bed, said the following prayer:
"Lord, make our friend be transformed into a real little boy, that would be our most. nice gift!"

The next morning, while the whole family was having lunch, someone knocked on the door. To the children's surprise, it was the little boy, dressed all in white.

“I am the prince of a distant kingdom. Your generosity has rescued me from a bad spell cast on me by a wicked witch. To thank you, I offer you this chest containing enough gold crowns to allow you to live in abundance for many more Christmases ”.

He smiled at them and disappeared in a burst of light.

The children never saw him again, but the legend of the little snowman was born ...

Frosty the Snowman
Was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And his eyes made out of coal

Frosty the Snowman
Made the children laugh and play
And were they surprised when
Before their eyes
He came to life that day

There must have been some magic
In that old silk hat they found
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around

Frosty the Snowman
Was alive as he could be
And the children say
He could laugh and play
Just the same as you and me

Frosty the Snowman
Knew the sun was hot that day
So he said let's run
And we'll have fun
Now before I melt away

So down to the village
With a broomstick in his hand
Running here and there all around the square
Saying catch me if you can

He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop
And he only paused a moment when
He heard him holler stop

Frosty the Snowman
Had to hurry on his way
But he waved goodbye
Saying don't you cry
I'll be back again some day

Thumpety thump thump
Thumpety thump thump
Look at Frosty go
Thumpety thump thump
Thumpety thump thump
Over the hills of snow
