TEDDYBEAR

They were ragged and old,
sat on a shelf, never sold,
seemed nobody would care,
for those dusty teddybears.

It was almost Christmas day,
all the kids were out to play,
waiting with excitement and joy,
each girl and each boy,

For gifts all shiney and new,
what were these old bears to do?
They'd been passed by year after year,
these old and ragged bears.

Oh but if they could talk, you see
the stories they could tell you and me,
about all the Christmas's they'd seen,
and the children, now teens,
that they recalled so small,
they remembered them all.

What people could'nt hear,
was the heart of a teddybear,
a heart so filled with love,
a blessing from above,
because it's true, you know,
a bear's heart could only grow,

For just one little boy
he'd bring them such joy.
if they'd only say "I want him",
thier heart would be filled to the brim.

Or maybe it'll be a girl,
pretty dress and golden curl,
that will pick one up to hold,
from that self so lonley and cold.

That bear with his arms of rag,
would give all the love to them he had,
He'd listen when they were afraid,
and silently smile to say "it's ok"

He'd sit up with them when they were sick,
a better friend you could never pick,
that bear of rags and fluff,
and all that other stuff.

He'd go with you, wherever you go,
and his love for you would always grow,
through the laughter and the tears,
He'd love you through the years.

Take those bears to the nearest tree,
and put him under, for you or me,
he's a special gift with hugs of care,
those ragged and old teddybears!
