An Urgent Letter To St. Nicholas

December 6 was approaching. St. Mikołaj sat and read the letters that his children sent him before his name day. Little angels surrounded the old bishop, loved by everyone in heaven. They opened his letters and put them in order. Sometimes the holy old man couldn't handle the scribbles scrawled by some kid just starting to get to know the hard and difficult arts of writing. Then the angels, at his request, took such a letter into their delicate hands and read it aloud to the saint.

- What did he write there? asked the saint with concern. - Take it and look, because I can't read these scribbles.

The little angel took another letter and read:

"I am asking you, Saint Nicholas, to bring me my railway."

- Oh, it's a turn. Then what?

- "Such a train that I and my dog Ciapek and my kitten Łapek would fit in it".

- That there were long rails. Because I want to train their tour around the world. "

- Well, well, well. How did he so Wędrowniczek. And what is written here?

Angel took the letter. Then he began:

" Reverend St. Santa! I am asking you to send me a real sausage. Long enough to last me until next year. And next year, I will ask you about the same. "

- How does he have the appetite for sausage - asked the saint.

The next letter was hard to read. Santa Claus handed angel to a wrinkled piece of paper.

- Read, read. Waste of time. So many more letters to be read, said the saint

- "Santa Claus! I am not asking you for any toys or sweets. I am asking you for only one thing. Heal my mother."

It grew quiet. After a moment of silence, St. Mikołaj asked:

- This is all that is written there?

- Not yet. "My mother has been seriously ill for a long time and no medicine is helping. The doctors said: Only God can save her. I thought to myself that it is not easy to get to God, because so many people keep asking Him for something, so I am writing to you. that you would plead for my mother to God. "

Santa Claus asked the angel to show him the child. The little angel looked around the Earth and pointed. St. Nicholas narrowed his eyes and looked closely, although he did not need it. He saw the boy in the hospital by his mother's bedside.

- It means he's alive.

He rose briskly from his chair.

- I'll be here soon.

- Where are you going, Santa Claus?

- How is it where? the saint was surprised. - To God to ask Him for my mother's health.
