A Beautiful Christmas Story

One man, called Mogo,
used to look at Christmas as a
party with no sense whatsoever.

According to him, the night of December 24th
was the saddest of the year, because many people
realized how lonely they were,
or felt very much the absence of the loved one
who was not present during the year.

Mogo was a good man.

I had a family, tried to help others,
and was honest in business.

However, I could not admit that people
were so naive as to believe that a God
had come down to Earth just to console men.

Being a person of principles,
I was not afraid to tell everyone that Christmas,
in addition to being sadder than happy,
it was also based on an unreal story
- a God becoming a man.

As always, on the eve of the celebration
of Christ's birth, his wife and children
prepared to go to church.

And, as usual,
Mogo decided to let them go alone, saying:
_ It would be hypocritical of me to accompany them.
I will be here waiting for your return.

When the family left,
Mogo sat in his favorite chair,
lit the fireplace, and started reading the newspapers that day.
However, he was soon distracted by a noise at his window,
followed by another ... and another.

Thinking it was someone throwing snowballs,
Mogo took his jacket out,
hoping to scare the intruder.

As soon as he opened the door, he
noticed a flock of birds that had lost their way
due to a storm, and were now shivering in the snow.

As they had noticed the heated house, they
tried to enter, but when they hit the glass, they
hurt their wings, and they could only fly again when
they were healed.
"I can't leave these creatures out here," thought Mogo.

"How can I help them?"

Mogo went to his garage door,
opened it and turned on the light.
The birds, however, did not move.
"They are afraid," thought Mogo.

Then he went into the house, took some bread crumbs,
and made a trail to the heated garage.

But the strategy did not work.

Mogo opened his arms,
tried to lead them with affectionate shouts,
gently pushed one and the other, but the birds
became even more nervous - they began to struggle,
walking aimlessly through the snow and uselessly expending
what little strength they still had.

Mogo no longer knew what to do.

_ You must be finding me a terrifying creature
- he said aloud.
_ Do they not understand that they can trust me?

Desperate shouted:

_ If I had, at this moment,
a chance to turn into a bird for just a few
minutes, you would see that I’m really
trying to save you!

At this point, the church bell rang, announcing midnight.

One of the birds became an angel, and asked Mogo:

_ Now you understand,
why did God need to become a human being?

With eyes full of tears,
kneeling in the snow, Mogo replied:

_ Forgive me angel.

Now I understand that we can only trust
those who look like us and go through the same
things that we went through.

"Today, Mogo understands the true meaning of Christmas, and,
believes in the God who sent his son JESUS to believe
and trust in the Creator Father. "

MERRY CHRISTMAS !!
