This has to be one the most important pages I have done in my
entire life. The reason is far beyond what the eyes can view.
In order to understand this page I ask you to visualize it
with the eyes of your heart.
This is my Victorian Award page. Since I have started this
site very recently, and still have so much to do and things to
accomplish, I really didn't think very much about this
particular page for obvious reasons. How could I receive any
Award for something that isn't even ready yet?
Well, turns out that I was wrong! First off, I created Lady
Sylvia's Victorian Parlor for a number of reasons. Reason
number one is because I am a Victorian era lover. I cherish
all things related to this period. The second reason was that
I needed to expand my Victorian pages due to the many requests
from visitors through out the years at my regular site. Reason
number three, and the strangest of them all, I once belonged
to a group on the net, which had some members that didn't like
my regular site very much. Nevertheless, even not pleasing
everyone (we can't do that at all times can we?), I continued
with my little project and worked on my Victorian pages.
I know that I will never accept that my pages are done. The
day I have to admit that will be the same as saying I don't
want to create or share anything with others. So I have to
truly say this site will be an always remodeling, dusting,
watch your step kind of place. LOL!!!
The most important things in life come in as surprises. I
thought today was going to be one of those normal weekdays,
but how I was mistaken. I received an email and the subject
was "Very Special Announcement". I saw the sender
and asked myself: "What could it be?"
My first Award!! I needed this so very much my dear Yvonne! I
was feeling sort of down because I believe in everything I do.
When I join a group, or enter an event, or say, "count on
me", I really mean it from the bottom of my heart.
Nowadays, I understand that it is very difficult to find
people that jump head first in everything such as me. I have
been told not to act like this because it's a very easy way of
getting hurt.
However, if I start refraining my natural instincts then I
won't be myself anymore. I am what I am: a helping person,
even when others don't want to be helped, a helpless romantic
person, excessively caring and protective with anything
concerning my family, and very sensible.
I can't thank you enough for this honor Yvonne. This is my
first Victorian Award, and it shall be here alone. You
believed in me from the very beginning, coming to visit me and
watching my work improve little by little. I will treasure not
only your gorgeous Award but your friendship forever. I humbly
thank you from the bottom of my heart.
