WHO! GRASS!
Beveren
Origin: Beveren, Belgium
Weight: 9-10 pounds
Colors: Black, Blue, Blue-eyed White
Bred for: Meat, Show, and Pet
Developed from the Brabanconne, the St. Nicholas Blue, and the Vienna White, the Beveren originally came in only white. In the twenties, Beverens were bred mostly for their fur, in usually the white coloration. Surprisingly, the "V" for victory was actually derived from the carriage of the Beveren's ear, which is obviously V-shaped. Although the British standard has accepted more fur colors and is more focused on fur, the ARBA standard had only accepted three colors, and is more focused on body type.
