Jupiter

Jupiter, sometimes known as Jove, Greek counterpart Zeus, was the king of the gods. Jupiter was a fairly benign god, "the bringer of jollity." Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system with a diameter of 85,788 miles. Jupiter is the 5th planet from the sun and the first "gas planet" meaning it has no solid surface. Jupiter has at least 61 moons. The four largest moons are: Ganymede, Europa, Io and Callisto. Ganymede is the largest moon and is larger than the planets Pluto and Mercury. Ganymede is cold and rocky. Europa and Callisto may have subterranean (underground) oceans and are both covered in ice. (Not mice.) Io is covered in Volcanoes and is the smallest of the four large moons with a diameter of 2178 miles.
