What do you like most about Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban? Have we missed anything about the book that you'd like to see here? If so please e-owl usvia our feedback page
Hhhhmmm....I wonder....
- Azkaban really reminds one of Alcatraz. They're both prisons, set on islands for the baddest of the bad
- when discussing Buckbeak's execution Hagrid says that "MacNair is an old pal of Malfoy's" Hhhhmmmmm I wonder where they became pals?

Incidentally...
- What's with Uncle Vernon's old socks? They're mentioned in Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban
- Harry and Hermione skulking around after using the time turner is indicated very well. Harry, Ron and Hermione hear Harry and Hermione slam the broom cupboard door
they notice that Buckbeak "seemed to know that something was happening...." and other little hints

Forewarned is forearmed...
- Harry's sneakoscope (his birthday gift from Ron) goes off around Scabbers
- when Ron is looking at Hermione's time table at breakfast, the fact that time plays an important role in the book is foreshadowed by him saying "There isn't enough time
- On Christmas day Harry ruminates on Scabbers [Harry] couldn't help feeling that unless Scabbers had powers he had never revealed he was nearing the end of his life
- at the Christmas feast Professor McGonagall says to Professor Trelawney "But sure you already know that [Lupin is ill] Sybill"

Oopsy Daisy!
- Harry's summer is a week too short. The book opens on his birthday July 31st. Aunt Marge stays for a week bringing us to August 7th. Harry then spends 2 weeks at the Leaky Cauldron bringing us to August 21st.
- When Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle come into Harry, Ron and Hermione's compartment on the train, Crabbe and Goyle are described as 'muscly'. Muscly is not a word. Crabbe and Goyle should be described as muscular.
- Marcus Flint should not still be Captain of the Slytherin Quidditch Team, he should have graduated in Harry's second year
- Remus should have seen two Harry's and two Hermione's on the Marauder's map when he was looking at it
- Remus describes the Wolfsbane potion as a cure for werewolfism. It's not a cure, it's a treatment
- when Harry and Hermione are watching everyone exit the Whomping Willow, they exit in the wrong order. The correct order is Crookshanks, Ron, Remus and Peter, Snape Harry, Hermione then Sirius. The order they see is Crookshanks, Ron, Remus and Peter, Hermione, Snape, Harry then Sirius
- Lupin should have turned into a werewolf long before he did, not when the moonlight hit him, but as soon as the moon rose. By the way, when the moon is full it always rises at sunset.
- there are two instances in which a sentence is begun with "But". It is grammatically incorrect to start a sentence with "but". Just before exams "All anybody felt like doing was....watching the giant squid propel itself dreamily across the surface of the lake. But they couldn't..."
Harry and Hermione are waiting to rescue Sirius, Harry tells Hermione that he thought he saw his dad "I know it sounds mad," said Harry flatly, Her turned to look at Buckbeak....But he wasn't really watching Buckbeak

File it under E for everything...
- the entire Gryffindor class is in divination, as well as care of magical creatures. Did EVERYONE sign up for the same two classes?
- Hermione describes Divination as "a waste of time" and "wooly" Arithmancy, one of her favourite classes, is a type of divination (divination using numbers)
- when Harry's in the infirmary after falling off his broom the Gryffindor team comes in dripping with mud. When he asks where Wood is he's told that Wood is "still in the shower". This COULD be construed as a mistake. It could be interpreted as the rest of the team showered then came to see Harry but Wood was still in there. However, it could also just mean that Wood was the only one who went to the shower and was spending an unusually long time in there
- When Fudge came upon the scene in the muggle street between Peter and Sirius he found a pile of blood stained robes. Where then did Peter get the robes he was wearing in the shrieking shack? (although he might have been naked it doesn't say he's got robes on)
