- Chapter: The Boy Who Lived
Uncle Vernon has seen a few strange sites but manages to work most of his day unconcerned about what is going on
around him. However, "...He found it a lot harder to concentrate on drills that afternoon when he left the building at five
o'clock, he was still so worried that he walked straight into someone just outside the door...." The someone he ran into is
described as a 'tiny old man' with a 'squeaky voice'. Could it have been Professor Flitwick he ran into? Professor Flitwick
is described as a tiny old man with a squeaky voice.
- Piers Polkiss (Dudley's best friend) is described as "a scrawny boy with a face like a rat" could there be more to Piers
than meets the eye, could he be Peter Pettigrew's offspring?

- Chapter: The Boy Who Lived

uncle, they're the only family he has left now." in book 5 it is revealed that Harry is safe with the Dursley's because of
his blood relationship to Aunt Petunia.
- Dumbledore's suspicions regarding Sirius (remember he thought Sirius was the Potter's secret keeper) were confirmed when
Hagrid told him that Sirius had lent him his bike
- Hagrid explains things to Harry saying 'There was somethin' goin' on that night he hadn't counted on...there was
somethin' in you that stumped him' Voldemort only heard the first part of the prophesy and thought that by killing Harry
he'd be saving himself.
- Chapter: Diagon Alley
Hagrid tells Harry that Voldemort went to Hogwarts 'years an' years ago' also, later on, Ron tells Harry that Voldemort was
in Slytherin.
- Mr. Ollivander says to Harry that he's got his mother's eyes. Supposedly Harry's eyes are an important plot device in
later books
- when Harry chooses his wand red and gold sparks fly out the end, the Gryffindor house colours are red and gold
- When the train is pulling away Fred and George tell Ginny they'll send her a Hogwart's toilet seat. At the end of the
book when Harry's in the infirmary they tried to send him a toilet seat but it was confiscated by the school matron, also,
this could foreshadow Ginny's involvement with the Chamber of Secrets and Moaning Myrtle's bathroom
- In the Great hall after seeing the sorting hat, Ron says "I'll kill Fred he was going on about wrestling a troll" on
Hallowe'en Ron "wrestles" the troll
- Chapter: The Potions Master
regarding the staircases "there were a hundred and forty-two staircases...some with a vanishing step half way up that you
had to remember to jump" in book 4 Harry gets a leg stuck in a vanishing stair and narrowly escapes detection by Professor
Snape and Filch
- On their first day Ron and Harry are caught trying to get through 'Fluffy's door' by Filch, they are 'rescued' by
Professor Quirrel who was passing.
- When Ron looks in the mirror of Erised he sees himself as Head Boy and as Quidditch captain, will we perhaps see Ron as
Head Boy and Quidditch Captain in later books?
- [Harry] sometimes had the horrible feeling that Snape could read minds. In book 5 it is revealed that Snape is very
good at occulomancy (reading minds)
- after Harry overhears Quirrel arguing with who he thinks is Snape (after promising not to stick his nose into things) he
sees Quirrel "...hurrying out of the classroom straightening his turban" Voldemort was inside Quirrel's turban
- while the kids are in detention they meet up with centaurs who say "mars is bright tonight" Mars is the Roman God of War

Oopsy Daisy!
- Chapter: The Vanishing Glass
The snake winks at Harry. Snakes don't have eyelids, therefore they can't wink
- Ant Petunia says that Lily would come home for the summer and spend her time 'turning teacups into rats.' This is in
violation of the decree for the restriction of underage wizardry. UNLESS the decree is fairly new, however this isn't
mentioned so I'm considering this a mistake.
- Harry's list of school supplies lists "one wand" twice, once at the beginning of the list and once at the end
- Harry overhear's a witch saying "Dragon liver, seventeen Sickles an ounce, they're mad..." there are 17 sickles to a
galleon, wouldn't she just say "Dragon liver, a galleon an ounce, they're mad..." that would be like saying "Diet soda 100
cents a can, they're nuts..."
- while Harry's looking for platform 9 3/4 he overhears Mrs. Weasley ask what platform the Hogwart's Express leaves from.
She went to Hogwarts, and she's had 6 kids go to Hogwarts, why on earth wouldn't she know which platform it left from?
- at the beginning of year feast Nearly Headless Nick says that he "[hasn't] eaten for nearly four hundred years" a year
later he celebrates his five hundredth death day party, so he should have said that he 'hadn't eaten for nearly five hundred
years.'
- Chapter: Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback
"Harry, who was looking up 'Dittany' in One Hundred Magical Herbs and
Fungi..." should be 1000 Magical Herbs and Fungi

isn't even a passing reference to it in the others
