Welcome to the CHASE PARTY homepage!!! Please bear with me while I try to keep this site updated. My name is Thom and I am the sponsor of the parties. I organize the parties....send out the flyers....set up the center ....purchase the mixers/munchies.... oversee the activites....and clean up when the pigs, oops, I mean, guests leave. And as you can tell by the picture on the left, I also DJ the parties. And people wonder why I get stressed out! *LOL*

WHAT IS A "CHASE" PARTY & AND WHERE IS IT AT?

Basically....it's a social party for the gay and lesbian community and their friends. This is the 8th(!) year that I have been doing these parties. The parties are held in Indiana, PA at the Chevy Chase Community Center at 640 N. 5th Avenue. I rent the Center and throw a party about once a month.

WHO COMES TO THE PARTIES?

Each party varies....the attendance varies between 100-150+ people. About 80% of the people attending are gay/lesbian and the other 20% are straight friends who come with friends and they seem to have a really good time!!! Of course, I do get the local residents and college students from IUP, but there are people who attend from Pittsburgh, Clarion, Johnstown, DuBois, Punxsy, Altoona, etc. The atmosphere is very friendly and the ages range range 18-50s, with the average age being early 30s, I'd say.

IS THERE A COST AND WHAT DO I GET FOR IT?

Yes, there is a $5 cover charge. That is to cover various expenses such as: postage/flyers, advertising, rental fee, mixers/munchies, etc. For those people UNDER 21 and those who don't drink, there is Pepsi, orange juice, 7-up, Coke, etc. supplied for you to drink. Those people who are OVER 21, it is B.Y.O.B. The Pennsylvania Alcohol Laws are very strict and I will not supply alcohol due to the fact that I will not go to jail for anyone especially if a minor is caught under-age drinking....which is a NO NO at the parties!!! Most people bring beer and stuff to mix with the mixers that are supplied. There are also chips & pretzels to munch on too.

This is Kathy aka Sam....or as I call her BULLDYKA !!! She will be probably be the first person you will meet, unless I'm out there too. She is the door greeter, money collector (and she's really ANAL about money) and the bouncer. She is a sweet heart of a person, but don't piss her off!!! :-)
