Dan Lindsay's Update Story

Here it is the Spring of 2000 and I've seen two years pass since my laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication. Clearly, my surgery can be recorded as a complete success! I've had no incidence of acid reflux for two years and am pleased that I can simply walk past all those over the counter acid blockers that seem to have blossomed on supermarket shelves.

I have been symptom free for so long that I've almost forgotten how bad it was. I'm now back to my pre-surgery weight (around 165 lbs) and the only possible side effect that I've had is an inability to sit down to a sizable meal,--I just can't tolerate that much food at once.

For me, this was the the best decision that I could have made. However, as with all surgeries, you have to do your homework. I'm very pleased with my surgeon (Dr. Ted Ruff in Midwest City, OK) and can't say enough about his skill as a surgeon. I'm glad I found out about him, and very pleased with going through with the work.

If you have any concerns or questions for me about my surgery, please contact me. Dan Lindsay
