Being very clever his roughness is overlooked. Loving flits and all animals, especially hawks and eagles. When is comes to healing he turns a lot softer. History- No one knows where he was born. His father took care of him, so he never knew his mother or any real family. He overheard when he was a young weyrbrat that his father, the weyrleader, had been in love with another woman, a mischievous raider. His father had apparently been in love with this woman before he became weyrleader and was ashamed. His mother didn�t take him being ashamed of their love lightly and ran off. The last his father heard of her was that she had given birth and her offspring was his. His father wanted the baby and soon found himself with Ahren. The servants he was eavesdropping on were about to say something else about his mother�s childbirth when he was caught and told off. It is a hard life without a mother and having a busy weyrleader as a father he was left to his own devices. Developing a love for animals he learned how to take care of them. His steady hand with animals were also wonderful with humans and was apprenticed to the healer and then to the swords master and finally the archer. His scar was from a wild hawk escaping his tethers when he was a boy.
