The end of a summer day,
I could care less come what may,
For normally I am tired and spent,
And do not want to be bent.

So out under that big elm tree,
I do sit, feeling oh so free.
As I watch the sun go down,
As I think of the luck I have found.

Just me and my dog sitting there,
Watching and waiting with no care.
Watching and enjoying the colored sunset,
Wondering if there will ever be a space reset.

Relaxing and nodding as a cool breeze does blow,
Me and that old dog do not really know.
For the wonders of this earth,
I do feel are pretty dearth.

So come, sit and chat with me,
As we do look and are in awe of what we see,
Quietly enjoying, taking it in,
Thanking our Maker for what we are in.
