pillar should do when a caterpillar is cocooning. She was shrinking and not eating but she wasn't cocooning. We let the Tweedles and Fat Cat go because they weren't eating. We should have put dirt in their houses too.

May 10
We spent an hour on our last butterfly. She is drinking honeywater and sugarwater, uncurling and curling her proboscis and flapping her wings and walking around. Right now she is lopsided at an angle on the honey cotton ball. Now she is climbing the lip of the jar lid where we placed the cotton balls. One set of her wings are crumpled. She is hurrying along Anna's arm flapping her wings. She began to emerge from her pupa about 8:45 am. She was crumpled coming out of her pupa on the floor of the bucket. She is in the herb window box. She was climbing around in the lavender when the rest of the pupa case was pulled off by a leaf at 10:20 am.
