Duran Duran is very special to me and so I had to make a page dedicated to them. They were the very first band that I can remember really loving when I was younger. Somewhere between my fascination with Prince and Michael Jackson I grew to love these Wild Boys from England. I used to get so excited whenever I saw one of their videos on tv, especially Rio because I thought John and Nick looked so cute in that video. And if you didn't know, they filmed that video in Antigua, where my parents are from. John Taylor was the first guy I can remember crushing on. He was just so damn pretty and had really cool hair. They all did. 80s hair is the best. Duran Duran is still together, and then still play shows every now and then. Simon and Nick are the only two original members left, which is a shame. I'd give anything to see John with them again. Hell I'd give anything to see Duran Duran period.
Once at Pacific Sunwear, a Duran Duran song came on over the radio. One of the guys that worked there told Melina and I that he had seen Duran Duran a year earlier and that he got to meet Nick and Simon. He said that after all those years, they were still really cool. Those are the kind of people I really want to meet, my 80s heroes: Simon Lebon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Morrissey, Dave Gahan, Robert Smith, Siouxsie Sioux...those are the musicians that I knew growing up, and those are the musicians that I still really enjoy listening to. But I digress.
Melina said that I should've put "Who is your favorite Duran Duran member?" as a question in my guestbook. Like anyone our age even knows who Duran Duran is. Just Kidding.
