FIVE LAYER SOAP

(The size of the mold is 12 ½ X 9 ½) This gives me 18 bars of soap.
The lye has been discounted by 7% to give you a superfatted soap.
I will give you the weight and the colorants I used but you need to follow
the directions just like on the three layer soap.

Layers 1 through 4

5.5 oz Olive Oil
4 oz Coconut Oil
3 oz Palm Oil

5 oz Distilled Water
1.77 oz or 50 grams of lye
1 tsp. of borax, which is added with the lye into the water (gives better
lather in the soap)
I used 2 tsp. of fragrance oil for each layer - for the blue; I used Bay
Breeze FO, for the Aqua color, Cool Water FO, and for the White, Cold Springs
FO.

Layer 5 (this is your last layer, which is slightly more, so you have the
extra when you cut away the ash)

6 oz Olive Oil
4.5 oz Coconut Oil
3.5 oz Palm Oil

5 oz Distilled Water
1.99 oz or 56 grams of lye
1 tsp. of borax (added to the water with the lye)

For the blue layers, I used Ultramarine Blue, for the green layers, Hydrated
Chromium Oxide, and for the while layer, water dispersible Titanium Dioxide.
I always take a small amount of the distilled water (before I add the lye)
and mix 1 ½ tsp. of the colorants. You'll find if you heat up the water a
little, the colorant mixes a lot better. Make sure to mix the exact amount
for the matching color. If you don't want your colors so intense, just use
1-tsp. colorant mixed into the distilled water. Just make sure to mix the
colorant really well.
