WATERMELON SOAP (this is the melt and pour soap)
Contributed by Dawn

I use a #12 rubbermaid plastic container. First, I melt clear M&P and add
Black Oxide colorant then pour into a shallow container. Once it has set,
cut it up using a crinkle cutter. For the red layer, I melted enough M&P
soap (about 2 cups) colored it red to my liking and scented it with
watermelon fragrance oil. Then I poured it into the #12 container. Let it
set to a thick jello consistency then carefully stir in the black "seeds".
Let this set up until firm. Meanwhile, melt a batch of opaque (white) soap;
scent with fragrance to your liking. Let it cool down a bit till you see a
thin skin forming on the surface. Spritz the red layer with alcohol and
pour the white layer onto the red. If you pour it when it's too hot, it
will cause the red to bleed into the white area. I always put a spoon on
the surface where I will be pouring so it gets poured on the spoon, so it
doesn't disturb the bottom layer. Finally, do the same with the green
layer. Melt the opaque soap (white), tint with green coloring, add your
fragrance oil; let cool slightly. Spritz the white layer with alcohol and
pour your green layer into the white. Let it set up completely and unmold.
Use a crinkle cutter to slice the soap into desired widths. Wrap if you are
not going to use it right away since M&P soap attracts moisture.
