Yellow Rose of Texas....

First off, I used the rose mold from Fine Arts by pouring the opaque M&P into it. After the soap was popped out, the petals were carved away from the base of the soap and very carefully curled onto a round wooden handle of a small paint brush. I made sure my fingers were warm so that the petal wouldn't break while pushing it over the wooden handle. I did the same for the leaves, except I cut away the leaves only to the half way point. After that I used the yellow mica with my paint mix (click on "instruction" area for instructions) for the rose. To add depth, I mixed some yellow mica with a touch of brown mica to create dimension in the grooves. For the highlights on the petal, I dry brushed some white pearl mica. The leaves were a paint mix with green mica and the tips were painted with the red mica. The background was a mix of green mica and white pearl mica, the color was just bounced onto the soap with the paint brush. I also did a mix of the yellow mica and bounced that onto the background too. *I will be coming out with a video in the next few months on step by step, "how to carve and paint soap".
