This was my first version of the butterfly crown. Not as complex as the actual crown, but then again, I'll only be using jewelry and sodering wires and regular chain, and dont have a professional smith at my beck and call. You can click the pic, by the way, to see a larger version.
So this was ok, as far as being contained within my means. I found a great site for the beads and chain, which can be found in the links section. They have a bajillion types and colors of Swavorski beads, and free shipping! Ok, so, one day I got really bored, and decided that this wasn't really good enough. So, my mind gave birth to something much more pleasing to me. Hence...
On the left is a picture of the actual crown, thanks to ACS, from an exhibit, to get a good look at the delicated chains and beads on the drapes. The middle picture is from the movie, great side detail, not so much for the chain, as they are entangled in Aragorn's fingers... but we get great dteailing from this high resolution screen cap The final picture is from the box of the Mattel Barbie, on which the elven ears of Arwen have been Photoshopped out, but shows a pretty clear picture of the front and part of the sides.
