This costume was for my 11 year old cousin, Jessica. It's basically cream crushed panne, with gold tissue lamme accents. I drafted the bodice pattern from a regular sleeveless tank and added a drop-point waist, and the top sleeves from an existing pattern. The skirt didn't end up being as full as I wanted, but in the end I think the dress turned out better because of it. I didn't do a shaped collar, or the double sleeve [above is just a concept drawing :)] It was pretty fun to do and pretty easy, though next time I'll definitely have a thicker lining - we ended up using the rest of the cream panne as a cape! October's in Chicago can be tricky...
