Nearest Station: WITTON

From all major cities take trains to BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET Station (the main railway station). Change there for WITTON or ASTON - usually platform 3a, but check. This is a local service and takes about 5 minutes to reach ASTON station, from where the crowd can be followed to the ground (about a 10 minute walk). A further 3 minutes on the train is WITTON - this is closer to Villa Park (a 2/3 minute walk - ground can be seen from the station). However not all trains call here. Trains for Walsall pass through, most stop. Trains for Lichfield from NEW STREET call at ASTON, then branch off and doesn't call at WITTON. There are usually Football Specials from New Street station on match days, in addition to the normal services, these call at Aston and/or Witton. After matches both stations are very crowded, possibly quicker to get trains back from Aston as both services from Walsall and Lichfield pass. Allow plenty of time for after match connections, for 3.00pm kick-offs finishing at approx. 4.50pm. Do not expect to be back at New Street until 5.30/5.45. Some lines do arrive in Birmingham at MOOR STREET and SNOW HILL stations, from whichever direction you have arived in the city, leave the train at MOOR STREET, leave the station on foot and follow signs to NEW STREET station (10 min walk if first time - but I can do it in 5!!). From MOOR STREET go under subway directly ahead when coming out of station, turn left when leaving subway, follow footpath aound corner to right, go through subway under High Street, continue ahead, NEW STREET station ahead, (signposted all the way - simple) then continue as above to WITTON or ASTON.

By Bus

The no. 7 is the bus that goes closest to Villa Park. You normally catch it outside the McDonalds in High Street (not the McDonalds on the ramp near New Street Station) in the city centre. It is approximately 5 minutes walk from the station and will stop at Trinity Road or Witton Island 30 seconds from the ground. Also there are the 102 and 104 busses. These busses drop you on Lichfield Road about 10 minutes away from the ground, but on approaching you get a great view of Aston Hall a the back of the Holte End stand

Rail and Bus directions where obtained from The Villa Web.
