Finale
(Ringmaster - spoken) In the center ring, a princely final attraction, Mister Phineas Taylor Barnum, himself.
(Barnum – spoken)
‘Course, that was a long time ago. Joyce Heth is gone and forgotten. So’s the American Museum, and the living whale, and Jenny Lind, and my poor Tom Thumb. And them Ruebens that came over on the Mayflower have gone to dust. Tom Jefferson’s memory, and old Franklin’s flown his last kite. So my kinda humbug’s disappeared. Pity.
(sung) There was a sucker, born every minute.
Each time that second hand swept to the top
Like dandelions up they’d pop
Their ears so big, their eyes so wide
And though I fed ‘em bonafide baloney
With no truth in it…ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
