A graduate of Swarthmore College, From 1999 through 2007 Kerry held several administrative positions at Effat College in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The college opened in the fall of 1999 and was founded by one of the Princesses of Saudi Arabia and named after her mother, Queen Effat. Kerry serves as the Dean's Assistant for Institutional Development and Quality Control.

Shortly after arriving in Jeddah, Kerry met David Landers, whose roots are in New York and Connecticut, and whose family now lives in New Jersey.

David taught at Dar Al Fikr, a school for Saudi boys in Jeddah and introduced Kerry to Scuba Diving in the Red Sea. Their relationship grew to the point where, on a visit home in the summer of 2000, they were married in Annandale, Virginia (June 28). David and Kerry honeymooned in southern France and then returned for another "tour of duty" in Jeddah as man and wife for the academic year, 2000-2001. David has taught at the Saudi Airline's school and now teaches at the British School in Jeddah. Prior to moving to Saudi Arabia, he taught at the English Language Institute in Seoul, Korea and the International School of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

In January, 2007 Kerry and David became the proud parents of a baby girl, Luna Rae Landers. Luna was born in Saudi Arabia. In June, 2007, the family returned to the USA and moved to New Hampshire in the vicinity of Hanover, Lebanon and Enfield near the campus of Dartmouth College. Prior to moving to Saudi Arabia in the summer of 1999, Kerry taught French at Penncrest High School in Media, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, she spent a year in Paris at the Sorbonne and then returned to France for a year after graduation to teach Junior High School Students in a suburb of Grenoble. Kerry has traveled extensively and one of her great adventures was a week driving around the Island of Corsica. Kerry recently completed her work for a Master of Arts Degree at LaSalle University. She was awarded the M.A. in Secondary Education at Commencement on May 23, 1999.

During the summer of 1999, Kerry spent a month in Cuernavaca, Mexico, where she studied Spanish in the Cemanahuac Educational Community. She also completed a distance learning course in ESL through the Tokyo Language Arts College in Japan.

Kerry was an excellent basketball player. She started in grammar school (7th and 8th grades) and continued throughout High School, having been recognized for her ability in the press and through awards. While at Swarthmore College she was one of the team's "tri captains". On the Swarthmore web site there is a link to "Swarthmore Women's Basketball Career Leaders". Kerry's name pops up in about a half-dozen categories. She ranks 11th in "All-Time Individual Scoring", "Most Career Field Goals", and "Most Career Free Throws made"; 7th for "Best Career Field Goal Percentage" and 3rd for "Best Career Free Throw Percentage", her highest ranking.
