CHINA ON THE INTERNET
Ive discovered two interesting sites on the internet which will help you prepare for your China adventure:
http://chinavista.com/travel/virtualtours.html will provide you with basic tour information. For day-to-day information on China, including weather and news, visit: http://www.chinaonline.com. This site highlights China in the world news, along the lines of USA Today.
You can also visit the Collette Tours site: www.collettetours.com.
PRELIMINARY PREPARATION:
GET YOUR VISA!
First, the good news: you DO NOT need any shots for China. But you do need a VISA. Enclosed is the Visa request packet provided by Collette Tours. It is self explanatory, but if you have any questions, call the people at Express Visa Service, 1-800-794-8687. DO NOT send in the application before August 11 (90 days prior to trip) so you have plenty of time to prepare it. Those of you going on the trip to Scandinavia in August will have to wait until we return, as you must send your passport to get your Visa. Since it only takes about 15 days for processing, you have at least till the end of September to order your visa. All passports must be valid for six months beyond November 21, 2000 so check the expiration date on your passport to make sure it isnt before May 21, 2001.
