EARLY EDITION
"Early Edition" is a fantastic show and has been one of my favorites for quite some time, even though I don't know much about it when it comes to behind-the-scenes stuff. If you're looking for info, it'd be best to go to someplace like IMDB.com for that.

"Early Edition" stars Kyle Chandler as Gary Hobson, a stockbroker. He's the one in the middle.  See?  That's reason enough to watch the show.  Anyway, the story starts out with him being kicked out by his wife Marcia, who divorces him. Down on his luck and living in the Blackstone Hotel, he wakes one morning to find an orange tabby cat on his doorstep with a newspaper. He soon discovers that this is no ordinary paper, but "tomorrow's paper, today" -- a supernatural paper which allows him to see what will happen that day and to prevent bad things from happening. He uses the paper only for good, despite the incessant nagging of his friend Chuck (played by Fisher Stevens) to use the paper for monetary gain. The only time Gary willingly uses the paper for money is in the pilot episode, in which he uses it to bet on horse races and gives the money to their blind friend Marissa (Shanesia Davis-Williams) to buy a seeing-eye dog. Later, through use of the paper, he saves a favorite local sports bar from being demolished and, through his appreciation, the owner (who was planning on retiring) gives the bar to Gary and Chuck. In the show's third season, Fisher Steven's character was written out (I'm still not clear on why), but returned for guest appearances and later rejoined for a number of episodes in the fourth season.

"Early Edition" was cancelled at the end of its fourth season, but syndicated reruns can sometimes be found on local channels, usually ABC.  Most recently, I've seen it on my local PAX channel.
